“Summer Drama”

by Deborah Gregg
“Release the captives!….or else!!”Yes, a summer drama is unfolding as two boys were spotted grabbing fireflies and stuffing them in jars. The girls are not to be messed with, and too bad for you if you make them mad. Especially if you do something as rotten as this. So the chase was on.They would have tried to out run them..and their little dog, ( but no-one outruns Dixie…she’s a little powerhouse for good!) But what made them a bit spooked was all those fireflies coming with them! “Death by Firefly” crossed their little minds and they gave up pronto. The fireflies were released back into the night (to the extreme joy of the firefly community) to find their true loves and grace the summer nights with their beautiful lights. The boys were sent on their way too …after a few whacks with a stick. That was a bit much, but Maddy got so worked up she couldn’t help herself. Girl Power!! :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Its a thrill to read about Spooks out in the dark. And lighting is not a problem. Friends gather to help as long as you read out loud so everyone can enjoy it. Well maybe the dogs, bravely sticking it out, would enjoy it more inside! :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Progress is being made with decorating the large pine in front when the dachshunds were struck with a powerful surge of Christmas Spirit! Off they go with a couple of strings of lights out onto the hill, kicking and hopping around….so pleased with themselves as usual. Their joy is infectious and the tree will wait. Plus the battery powered lights look really beautiful dancing and tumbling along under the greater lights of the Moon and The Milkyway. These tiny moments make life wonderful. :)     This is a tiny aceo, art card. Measuring 2 1/2″  by 3 1/2″. Painted with acrylics on 140 lb  acid free watercolor paper. If you would like one just like it, I can paint you one for $42.00  Have an amazing day!  :)  :)

A young couple is just bringing in small load of Christmas trees from the forest (assisted by Betsy the horse and Larry, the dog) just as the Winter night puts on a beautiful light show. The full moon just clears the horizon, shooting stars streak through the heavens, the other stars out in force unaware of how wonderful they are! The snowy landscape glows, the tiny town in the distance, so peaceful, all is well in the world tonight. Happy Holidays! :) This is a Small Painting. Measuring  4″  by  6″. Painted with acrylics on 140 lb  acid free watercolor paper.Best matted and Framed (not included)  If you would like one just like it, I can paint you one for $65.00  Have an amazing day!  :)  :)

“The Red Wagon Express”

by Deborah Gregg
“Great Grandma and her best friend, Cora Crow, always come for the holidays. Still living well on her own in a small cabin in the woods, but for a few years now, walking when its cold has been a challenge. So the trusty red wagon has a new function. Transportation from her house to ours! With Thor, our black Lab in charge of security, Claire tucked in the back, Great Grandma in charge of the lantern, David pushing ( also acting as a break) and Cora jabbering away ( she’s a bit excited, pumpkin pie is her favorite and she knows one is always baked just for her!) on her head, we make our way along the dirt path. The wind is still as a soft snow begins to fall. And our world is transformed into a Christmas card. Peace On Earth and Happy Holidays!! :)     This is a tiny aceo, art card. Measuring 2 1/2″  by 3 1/2″. Painted with acrylics on 140 lb  acid free watercolor paper. If you would like one just like it, I can paint you one for $42.00  Have an amazing day!  :)  :)

“A Watchful Eye”

by Deborah Gregg

The November night brings a soft, steady snowfall to the little country home, slowly covering the buff, dormant grass. A light shines in an upstairs window - someone is still awake, having trouble falling asleep. So many worries, they are deep in prayer, finally giving it all to God. And on the hill above the house, two Angels have just begun a new assignment to carry blessings and safety to the much loved souls that dwell here, and to keep a watchful eye. Bundled against the cold ( Border Collies are Naturally dressed right for this weather), they even brought some hot tea and a chew bone for a chilly night “pick me up!” God Bless Us Everyone!

It’s too soon, it won’t stick…but it is so beautiful! Snow in October. Everything about Autumn is rich. The falling leaves, a hot drink in the crispy morning air, the golden landscape, the wild stormy clouds scudding along, geese flying ahead of the northern cold blasts, sheep with their thickening woolly coats, and a good companion to share it all with. God Bless the Harvest!!

“Beach Mist”

As the beach mist gives in to the morning sun, a glorious sea treasure is revealed to the shell collector. Her little Maltese dog, acting as support crew (crew of one….but she’s tougher than she looks), sounds the alert that this beautiful shell is still occupied and needs to be returned to the sea. God Bless all creatures, both great and small!

Piper, a rather small Maltese, is a little toughie but a patrolling group of robins stops her on the path, demanding some respect! Wait for some pruning on crab apples, etc. Take a few branches when they are about to bloom for the house. You wouldn’t think its spring out there today, its snow covered and still a few flakes in the air.

For us here in Nebraska it will be “In like a lamb, out like a lion,” March winds and changing skies…welcome! It has been a colder, snowier, longer winter than usual here.
