“Being quite unskilled at predicting the weather, the flock chose today to pick out their Christmas tree for the barn from the nearby Pine forest. The snow squall hit just as they were entering the south pasture…thankful they could see home and tree in hand, they push through it.The strong winds and stinging snow pellets catch in their thick wool coats, making it tough going. But they all hold on to one another and make it home to happy relieved faces and hot chocolate!! :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Has a protective finish, signed on front and back.An ACEO ( Art Cards, Editions and Originals ) This piece measures a tiny, 2.5″ tall and 3.5″ wide (image shown is larger than the actual painting). “Santa Bakes Cupcakes!”

by Deborah Gregg
Santa has many talents, one that isn’t well know is that he bakes the most wonderful cupcakes! But the flock is very spoiled…every year they put ” Santas’ Cupcakes ” on their list, and Santa delivers them himself. This year they sample his new flavor…. chocoholic chocolate with lime-cream cheese frosting! YUM! :)  :)    This is a tiny aceo, art card. Measuring 2 1/2″  by 3 1/2″. Painted with acrylics on 140 lb  acid free watercolor paper. If you would like one just like it, I can paint you one for $68.00  Have an amazing day!  :)  :)

Progress is being made with decorating the large pine in front when the dachshunds were struck with a powerful surge of Christmas Spirit! Off they go with a couple of strings of lights out onto the hill, kicking and hopping around….so pleased with themselves as usual. Their joy is infectious and the tree will wait. Plus the battery powered lights look really beautiful dancing and tumbling along under the greater lights of the Moon and The Milkyway. These tiny moments make life wonderful. :)     This is a tiny aceo, art card. Measuring 2 1/2″  by 3 1/2″. Painted with acrylics on 140 lb  acid free watercolor paper. A young couple is just bringing in small load of Christmas trees from the forest (assisted by Betsy the horse and Larry, the dog) just as the Winter night puts on a beautiful light show. The full moon just clears the horizon, shooting stars streak through the heavens, the other stars out in force unaware of how wonderful they are! The snowy landscape glows, the tiny town in the distance, so peaceful, all is well in the world tonight. Happy Holidays! :) This is a Small Painting. Measuring  4″  by  6″. Painted with acrylics on 140 lb  acid free watercolor paper.Best matted and Framed (not included)  If you would like one just like it, I can paint you one for $65.00  Have an amazing day!  :)  :)

“The Red Wagon Express”

by Deborah Gregg
“Great Grandma and her best friend, Cora Crow, always come for the holidays. Still living well on her own in a small cabin in the woods, but for a few years now, walking when its cold has been a challenge. So the trusty red wagon has a new function. Transportation from her house to ours! With Thor, our black Lab in charge of security, Claire tucked in the back, Great Grandma in charge of the lantern, David pushing ( also acting as a break) and Cora jabbering away ( she’s a bit excited, pumpkin pie is her favorite and she knows one is always baked just for her!) on her head, we make our way along the dirt path. The wind is still as a soft snow begins to fall. And our world is transformed into a Christmas card. Peace On Earth and Happy Holidays!! :)     This is a tiny aceo, art card. Four friends welcome the snowy winter with a hot cocoa toast. The crows are just having the marshmallows! :) Peace On Earth and Happy Holidays!! :)

Its one of the most enjoyable traditions of the Christmas season. Cutting your own Christmas tree! The wonderful country environment filled with all that invigorating pine scent is good for the soul and just what most people need to start the Holidays. I hope everyone can fit this in this year! : ) Peace On Earth and Happy Holidays! :)

“Tis The Season To Give”

by Deborah Gregg
The Sheep on are their way to a small flock living just over the creek and past the woods. They have had a hard time lately and in need of some cheering up.. So toting a Christmas Tree, a big bag of goodies, a wreath, a special gift, and no, that’s not booze in those bottles, but sparkling concord grape juice (yum!), they march along, their naturally happy dispositions shining bright! Absolute JOY is in the giving! :)

Decorating a Christmas tree for the birds is a wonderful thing to do. The flock is filled with holiday spirit as they hang the cranberry garland all around the tree (which is proving to be a bit challenging for a couple of them…. but still fun!).

For those of you in warmer environments this time of year, you may see Kris Kringle getting geared up for the big night with ice tea in hand and wearing his swim trunks. :) And no we wont be thinking snow. We have enough of it already! (and yes, he is getting a bit too much sun on his bald spot!)
