It didn’t look that far. They thought they would have plenty of time to walk across the field. And so they went off for that visit at the neighboring farm. But the Blizzard came faster than predicted and caught the little peas out in the open. And so here they are, in peril. A very tough situation indeed. But the end of this story is happy (of course!) The resident mice of the winter fields heard their little pea voices and popped up out of their holes and led them down under the snow, into the warm, cozy, earth caves and there they stayed until the storm was over. Yes they have learned their lesson, especially since the mice went on and on and on about it! Never take chances with the winter weather. :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Has a protective finish, signed on front and back. “October Willow In The Wind”

by Deborah Gregg
When the October winds kick up the group (and at this time of year the jolly Jack ‘O Lanterns are always welcome!) gathers under the big Willow on the hill and take turns swinging their cares away. Simple things are the best. :)

Summer has arrived and some of the flock (and loyal friend Barney the Border Collie) head to the field at Lands End to fly kites. Of course the large kite has to be flown by the tiniest little tot who’s dad is yelling “Hang On!” while mom is yelling “Let Go!” I think Junior is siding with dad on this one… way too much fun! :)

Oh the winds of March! A few little brainless sorts thought it might be fun to fly along the garden path on the tip of lucky four leaf clovers… not really all that lucky… going a bit too fast and no they will not think to just let go… :) Happy Spring Gardening! :)

The March winds can be challenging. Going out to the fresh green fields is one thing, getting back to the barn is quite another. The woolly wonders really catch the wind and can become air born in seconds! Hang On! :)

For us here in Nebraska it will be “In like a lamb, out like a lion,” March winds and changing skies…welcome! It has been a colder, snowier, longer winter than usual here.
