“What Was That?”

by Deborah Gregg
She holds her best friend ( Betty the barn owl ) on one hand, and in the other, a candle, held as high as she can to light the leafy path. They knew they should not have taken this “short cut”. At the moment, everything that goes bump in the night seems to be in these dark woods. Eyes can be felt watching them as they walk slowly along tossing threats like…” Oh really? Well then, Bring it Buster!!” into the deep woods.. They are grateful for each others company and as they come safely out the other side, they vow never to take that path again! Late for the Halloween party or not! Their new motto….Arrive Alive!. :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. “The Pumpkin Heist” by Deborah Gregg Halloween is just around the corner and the cats really really wanted a pumpkin of their own this year. The patch down the road was full of them. Beautiful big ones too. It didn’t occur to them that it was the pride and joy of the witch who lives there. They made their plan and sure enough. It could not have been easier! They joyfully marched along with their big orange pumpkin, unaware that the Witch watched the whole thing ( the bright lantern helped, Ha! ). Lucky little group, she loves Halloween and her precious pumpkins, but she also loves cats! This small painting is done with acrylics on 140 lb, acid free watercolor paper with acrylics. it has a protective finish and measures 4″ tall by 6″ long. (It is best matted and framed, not included) The copyright notice is on the digital image only, not on the actual painting. The original was recently sold on Etsy. I would be happy to paint one for you for $62.00 . This includes shipping and insurance. Have a Wonderful Day!

Witches are usually seen as not too nice and up to no good…but not this one, really more of a “Do Gooder” sort. A goofy one at that but she has a heart of gold. Instead of wreaking havoc on Halloween night she visits an isolated village somewhere in the world and assisted by her crew of one, her trusty tuxedo cat Jingle Bells, passes gifts and toys out to the children… from her big velvet bag. Yeah I know, it just so happens that Santa is her BFF! And he’s just full of great ideas! Happy Halloween everyone!

The wonderful Earthy autumn months are just as good a time for love to bloom as the Spring. Everyone feels good with the cupboards full, looking to get cozy….all creatures come together then looking for safe shelter, storing up food, working with each other to make it through another winter. And the Wizard has fallen for the Witch. Love blossomed in the light of the full Harvest Moon. And a side note: love has also happened to a pair of round little pumpkins. I know…you wouldn’t think…and two black cats. Love is everywhere! A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. “I Think That’s a Real Witch!”

by Deborah Gregg
You must keep your wits about you in this neighborhood on Halloween night. As the children go around collecting goodies a Witch passing through decides to give the kids a good scare by flying low over the trees and cackling as loud as she’s able. And the gentle Moon smiles sweetly for she knows that this particular Witch is really quite harmless, in fact she’s on her way to the annual ” Birdwatchers of the Boonies Marshmallow Roast”! I know…sounds like good times.. :)  A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. As the bats flit about stealing popcorn, the flock’s annual Halloween play has reached the big final scene, where the witch flies across the golden full moon. Everyone is enchanted and also a bit apprehensive (there were a few minor injuries during rehearsal for this rather risky scene) as the “witch” is hoisted up and floats perfectly along! Way to go! What a show! I mean seriously……not bad for sheep.  :)  A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. They would have been fine if they had anything but apples in those baskets. Spooks and apples…..they are crazy for them! She doesn’t fly on a broomstick or stir up smelly potions and definitely would never “get” anyone let alone their little dog (she loves all creatures), she is a good witch and a good cook! She makes the best apple pies in the county so when you need apples you go get them, even if night has fallen and you have to go through the haunted forest. Her loyal friends the cats are doing their best to hold it together as they fly along on the path hitting every bump, apples bouncing out and into the hands of the spooks. And little do they know…that’s all they want….they are really quite sweet. Very misunderstood you know.  :)  A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Hazel is just about ready for customers. Her cupcakes, rich, luscious and beautifully decorated, are anticipated all year and she’s been cooking all day in her outdoor oven. Of course she works for months perfecting the secret recipe (handed down to her by her great Aunt “Double Wide Witch Wanda”) and supported, as you can see by their rotund shapes, by her two constant companions. She really should charge more…but maybe it’s best for this little group if there aren’t any leftovers! ha! :) This is an aceo  (an art card). Painted on 140 lb. watercolor paper with acrylics. It measures a tiny 2 1/2″ by 3 1/2″. I would love to paint one just like this one for you! price is 57.00. This includes postage and insurance. Have a great day!! :)  :)  :)

The pumpkin was beautiful….the best one in the patch. Of course they both saw it at the same moment and thats when the trouble started. Thank goodness that was one tough pumpkin! It out lasted that little witch dust up and lived to tell the tale on All Hallows Eve! :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper.
