“What Was That?”
by Deborah Gregg
She holds her best friend ( Betty the barn owl ) on one hand, and in the other, a candle, held as high as she can to light the leafy path. They knew they should not have taken this “short cut”. At the moment, everything that goes bump in the night seems to be in these dark woods. Eyes can be felt watching them as they walk slowly along tossing threats like…” Oh really? Well then, Bring it Buster!!” into the deep woods.. They are grateful for each others company and as they come safely out the other side, they vow never to take that path again! Late for the Halloween party or not! Their new motto….Arrive Alive!.
