“Delicate Operation”

by Deborah Gregg
It immediately showed promise as a tiny green baby and they have been caring for it daily since. Now it truly is on its way to winning the blue ribbon for the flock in the “Biggest Pumpkin” competition at the Harvest Festival. Its serious business at this delicate stage. Eleanor checks its “life force” with her stethoscope, Harold gives it more liquid nutrition, Mable keeps its orange, smooth surface free of dirt, Marvin is settling in for night watchman detail, equipped with a strong cup of coffee, and last but not least, Junior is on the hunt ( using his trusty little red flashlight ) for possible threats by bugs up to no good. An impressive group, Master gardeners all! A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Has a protective finish, signed on front and back.An ACEO ( Art Cards, Editions and Originals ) This piece measures a tiny, 2.5″ tall and 3.5″ wide (image shown is larger than the actual painting). Copyright notice on piece is on digital image only, not on actual painting. I would love to paint this again . Price is 69.50 this includes shipping.

“Roadside Sunflower Sale!”

by Deborah Gregg
Harold and Eleanor have this shift, the last one for the day. The Sun has set and a sliver of a crescent moon has risen. But they are determined to sell them all before heading in. Eleanor is in charge of the money (has her money bag strapped on) and dealing with the actual customers. Harold being Harold, he has been placed in charge of advertising and promotional tactics, which he is very good at. Sunflowers are a hot item this time of year so of course they did sell them all ! Tomorrow the flock will take shifts and sell again till they have enough for the annual Harvest Party, leaving plenty for the birds over winter. Really, God Bless them, they think of everything. :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Have a cool summer day!!! :) :)

by Deborah Gregg
A summer day! The windows of the barn are flung wide open to catch those precious summer breezes as the flock works on their patriotic contribution to the nearby towns’ July Fourth celebrations. A new flag! Of course a beer or two helps keep them all cool…root beer that is! :) Hope everyone’s summer is great so far! Having a bit too much rain here but otherwise alls well! :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Easter Egg Auction!

May 23rd, 2010
Posted in Aceo, Eggs, Easter, Sheep | No Comments »

Yes, they are magic. Each egg is in possession of a small bit of something that only the owners of that egg will realize. Sometimes right away, and others at a time in the future. All when they are most needed. There’s an egg for everyone at the auction. Even the crows are bidding and have already won one! Its a wonderful day with so many good things in store for all. The season of rebirth and hope is very strong. This piece is an Art card (aceo). Done with acrylics on 140 lb watercolor paper with a protective finish. I would be happy to paint one like this one for you. The price, including postage, is $51.00 Have a great day!!

Every year the flock takes to the hills to show off their skills on skis. Margaret loves it but finds it most challenging (honestly though so do the others). Imagine everyone’s delight when she comes flying down the hill still upright (soon to be not so upright…) dressed in her snow bunny best! Nothing but love and support in this crowd! :) p.s. That one head first in the snow was quickly rescued as was the one in the tree, both are fine..especially after a few hot toddies in the lodge. No sheep were hurt in the painting of this scene.. Ha! :) Think Spring everyone! :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. >”Cupcake Assembly line”
by Deborah Gregg

This year the Valentine party for the flock will be in the warm and toasty garden shed. For the moment they have turned it into a factory of sorts. The ones assigned to the assembly line for decorating the many cupcakes ( a flock favorite) needed for the get together are serious about this…..as serious as sheep can be that is. Never mind the tell tale sprinkles on muzzles, cinnamon hearts worn as hair ornaments, and more than a few of these and whole cupcakes disappearing. Not to mention all the goodies falling on the floor (the chickens love the mess! ). Because when all is said and done the results are beautiful and scrumptious! Happy Valentines Day from the flock! …and me. :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. “Pushing Through”

“Being quite unskilled at predicting the weather, the flock chose today to pick out their Christmas tree for the barn from the nearby Pine forest. The snow squall hit just as they were entering the south pasture…thankful they could see home and tree in hand, they push through it.The strong winds and stinging snow pellets catch in their thick wool coats, making it tough going. But they all hold on to one another and make it home to happy relieved faces and hot chocolate!! :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. “The Giant Cupcake”

by Deborah Gregg
When their neighbor said she had made “a cupcake” for the flocks New Years party and said to bring some strong types to carry “it” home….they didn’t know what to think. Perhaps the recent cold and snow had left her with a “Brain freeze” sort of thing. But oh my word!!! They carefully, slowly go along the path to the barn…Edward bringing up the rear carrying the cherry…..she insisted it be put on the top of the “Pistachio Cream” icing when the Cupcake arrived safely….which is doubtful, as Harold insists on walking backward and Darold has begun picking off and eating the sprinkles, stumbling along as he does so…… But what a beautiful thing it is! Wait till the others see it! P.S. it made it..the cherry placed on top properly.  It was a real hit at the party…..and  for those who thought that its size may indicate bad taste..in more ways that one…..they were wrong. :) :)  This is a tiny aceo, art card. Measuring 2 1/2″  by 3 1/2″. Painted with acrylics on 140 lb  acid free watercolor paper. If you would like one just like it, I can paint you one for $55.00  Have an amazing day!  :)  :)

“Santa Bakes Cupcakes!”

by Deborah Gregg
Santa has many talents, one that isn’t well know is that he bakes the most wonderful cupcakes! But the flock is very spoiled…every year they put ” Santas’ Cupcakes ” on their list, and Santa delivers them himself. This year they sample his new flavor…. chocoholic chocolate with lime-cream cheese frosting! YUM! :)  :)    This is a tiny aceo, art card. Measuring 2 1/2″  by 3 1/2″. Painted with acrylics on 140 lb  acid free watercolor paper. If you would like one just like it, I can paint you one for $68.00  Have an amazing day!  :)  :)
