“Morning Tea”

by Deborah Gregg
Ah, morning tea. In a shady nook of the garden, where the cool of the night lingers long into the morning hours, the busy garden fairies take their morning tea break. The gentle mushrooms, lending their tops for a resting place for the tiny, winged creatures, join them in a cup….or two. A needed pick me up for all.. Ice tea and mulberry cakes have replaced high tea in the hot afternoons now, at least until the weather turns cool again.God Bless Gardens.(even when they are hot and so humid!) :) A tiny, primitive style folk art painting, done with acrylics on acid free,140 lb. watercolor paper. Has a protective finish, signed on front and back.An ACEO ( Art Cards, Editions and Originals ) This piece measures a tiny, 2.5″ tall and 3.5″ wide (image shown is larger than the actual painting). Copyright notice on piece is on digital image only, not on actual painting. I would be happy to paint one just like this one for you for 52.00. This includes shipping. :) Have a nice day!! :)

“Firefly Dance”

by Deborah Gregg
On a warm summer night a group of friends from the pasture gather to watch the firefly dance. The rabbits, cats, sheep and a mouse ( he’s a bit large for a mouse but he insists that he indeed is a mouse, stating…..”I had a good upbringing…lots of quality nutrition”) sit spellbound by the beautiful show going on all around them. Watch for the fireflies ( lightning bugs is what we called them) this year and just watch, let them do their thing (looking for love) and be amazed!!! :)

The rains have been generous this year on the Prairie. The summer wildflowers on the hill are at their best. Its hard to come in from this all this…..the scent…the soft breeze….just one more bouquet for the house…..(The dog , sheep, and cat, feel the same ).And everyone will have a flower for their hair………we’ll just say the moon is wearing hers on her upper right quadrant?? :) God Bless Wildflowers! :)

“Sunshine Sunflower Farm”

by Deborah Gregg
The very first cash crop of the season is the most delightful. The late summer morning is cool as the wagon leaves for town, a load of beautiful sunflower blossoms will sell for cut flowers and fill everyone’s day with sunshine! Hope everyone has some of these beauties growing in the garden or has a good farmers market close by!

Oh the Spring dance around the Maypole! You must focus. Some of us are not good at that. Of course the flock has the same diversity. All’s well and the ribbons are weaving together beautifully and then, never fails…a couple of sheep lose focus or get a little silly…maybe both.. and Sheep down! The thing to do is just keep going…. they will untangle themselves and rejoin the dance…..and honestly, sometimes its best if they just stay put at this point. :)

The Lily Of The Valley is blooming and the flowers are wonderful this year. And that means it’s time to try on (never pinching them off the stalk unless its a perfect fit) new hats! :) Happy Spring Gardening! :)

It takes these little ones, in their yellow raincoats, a bit longer to get to school in the mornings these days. A river of green has opened up, every day covered with more and more Spring blooms. And even in the drizzly chill they sparkle.

The wild meadows and fields are full of Spring flowers, especially Red Poppies. Enough to share with the New Moon.

One of the earliest blooming Spring bulbs are the hardy Snowdrops. Blooming and beautiful even in a Spring snow shower. And the snow cannot stop the joyful fun of a little garden fairy as she hops from nodding stem to stem (don’t worry she is quite toasty, she’s wearing her red long johns under her dress!).

Forget Me Knots, Wild Violets and some mushrooms are blooming in the garden. But that’s not the only thing in bloom this Spring. Two garden Fairies have found each other and true love.
